Insights on The Existence

Category: By Jenson
Just 2 days ago, a friend of mine had asked me to post more on the supernatural and I was kind of reluctant to do so at first. Never really have the mood to write on anything these days but since my friend suggested me doing so, I went with it. First of all, I am not trying to turn my blog into some blog that only contained horror stories. I basically talk on anything factual or fiction. Anyway, I was browsing through a variety of links when I came across this particular title that I find it kind of funny. Well, check it out for yourself from the following link :
Even the supernatural beings do have a sense of justice after all. Perhaps? My opinion? He might been unlucky enough to come across a Penunggu. Malay spirits and ghosts initially attracted me into this supernatural frenzy in the first place. I truly believe in the existence of such beings. Unlike others, they have different class of spirits and ghsosts. Just to name a few;
  • Pontianak - Spirits of women that die at childbirth. Usually dressed in white as a sign of seeking revenge.
  • Pocong - commonly described as a mummified ghost. Wrapped in white cloth.
  • Hantu Raya - A spirit that usually takes on the form of it's owner to run errands. Something like a Doppelganger. In other countries, seeing a Doppelganger is said to bring bad luck. It's an omen or a sign of death.
  • Orang Minyak - A ghost that is completely covered in black oil. They prey on young virgin woman. As they are covered in black oil, they are hard to catch (that's what they believe).
  • Toyol - A child spirit that is frequently used to steal things and have to be fed with blood everyday.
  • Orang Bunian - One of the Malay folklore ghosts that is said to be good. They are usually spotted deep in the jungle and appears to help people in need.
When people have problems with the supernatural, they don't go calling the Ghost Hunters bureau, they prefer the more traditional way which is to consult a Bomoh. Not only it is cheaper, it's also more trustable. I have heard stories that bomohs (witch dotors) usually 'hire' spirits to run errands for them. Errands ranging from guarding the house properties, protetcing them from curses or mortal harm to stealing (depends on the character of the witch doctor). I am not quite sure about the guardian spirits are called but it might be the penunggu. Either way, I am pretty sure about the stealing spirits. They are 'toyols' and definitely most of you out there know about them. Some people buy these spirits to guard their house for a price. Like the Hantu Raya itself is used to take care of the house when the owner or family isn't around. Taking the form of their master, they will be left in the house guarding. I have heard that the Hantu Raya can't talk as well.

Hotspots or so they are called, are locations where supernatural activities are frequent. I came across a website last night regarding the Ria Apartments. Well, Ria Apartments are known for hauntings. Even my dad has his own experience there as well. Ria represents happiness but wait till you read what people have to say and I don't think people would be happy no more. No offense but I am not trying to spoil the reputation of the firm but it's already reknown for it's frequent hauntings. People who came back from there have their very own fair share of tales to tell. Check out for more in the following link. Click Here. Do check out more on the comments as alot of people post on their experiences after an overnight stay in Ria Apartments. Once again, No Offense.

Alright this tale is dated back to 1978. I meant the incident happened then. I got this tale from my uncle 2 years ago. I will just label him as Uncle K. He and his brothers (my dad was studying in Australia at that time) were out for for the night and returned home in the wee hours of the morning only to be greeted by an angry mother who had locked the main door. Looks like it that they will have to spend their night in a house which is within walking distance. A vacant house which has been emptied for 2 years now. They broke into the house and all slept in one room. Dusty as it is, they could not complain much. Drained out from all the fun they had just know, they all agreed that it was time for them to hit the sack. Things were normal at first, nothing peculiar happened. They were having good dreams when this uncle of mine woke up.

Uncle K is the 4th out of the 10 siblings and he claimed that he had been seeing weird things since he was a young boy. Ranging from pale white figures standing along the hallway at home to a bloody figure staring at him with bloodshot eyes, he's very well gotten used to it he says. Only he and his elder brother could see these things. Bear in mind that having these pair of eyes does not actually allow you to see them 24/7. It only increases the chance of spotting them especially when you are in their 'territory' or when they want you to see them. By then, his brothers as well had woke up to a certain noise. You guys know what wooden clogs are right? Now, imagine you wearing the clogs while walking on a wooden pavement. What sort of noise would it make? I would say that it's a very annoying noise and since the house is vacant, I would say that the noise would be echoing throughout the house. Adding in the wooden pavement, it's a total nuiscance.

"...Clok Clok Clok ..."

Judging from the noise, everyone could figure that whoever that was, was walking to and fro along the corridor. My youngest uncle whispered to Uncle K "Eh, who's that ar? I thought that this house is abandoned?" Uncle K replied, "I know that. Something's not right. I think there are 'people' staying here." The situation began to get intense. Other uncles were shocked. For fear of being arrested for breaking into people's house. They had not get what Uncle K really meant. Talking and thinking of what they should do, Uncle K suddenly lifted up his hand which signifies, keep quiet. The annoying noise had stopped. What they can hear now is no longer the wooden clogs walking along the corridor. Instead, noises are now heard from the kitchen. "Looks like it that someone's hungry early in the morning." one of his brothers suddenly speak. The sound of the spatula hitting the wok is echoed throughout the house. Uncle K whispered to himself trying not to scare the others "But who would be cooking 3.30 in the morning and moreover, this house is supposed to be vacant!"

Feeling something amissed, he then opened the door slightly and peeked through the hallway. Opening the main door, one could see the kitchen at the end and 2 bedrooms in the hallway. It's a rectangular shape type of house. Within seconds, he looked back and said to the his brothers, "I think we should leave the premises immidiately and when you leave the room, do not look back even if you hear anything. Don't ask why." Walking out of the room as softly and fast as they could, they headed towards the main door. The cooking noise had not stopped even though they left the house. Feeling relieved that the house owner had not caught up with them nor realise that they were in the house, they walked back home. Uncle K kept quiet the entire night only to get a high fever the very next day. He told everything to my grandmother the very next morning of what happened the previous night. Furious, she scolded everyone. "Knowing that your brother can see all the nonsense you still bring him to that house!! Your brother brought you out of the house in time. You all very lucky." What my grandmother told them gave them goosebumps, the same goes with me when my uncle told me.

Earlier, he had told them not to look back as directly at the end of the hallway was the kitchen. He said that he saw a lady dressed in red with very long hair; but her hair were not tidied up. He described her hair as long and messy. The lady was cooking when he peeked through the door and something tells him to immidiately leave the house. He had completely forgotten that 2 years back, a couple used to live in the house. Eventually, the lady had a quarrel with her husband after catching him cheating on her and had comitted suicide wearing in red clothing. Comitting suicide in red clothing signifies dying in a fit of anger and vengeance. He told me that the husband died of a very unnatural death a few days later. From what I have known, comitting suicide is a very sinful act and the spirits will either be tortured in hell or left wandering around or bound to the area of suicide for a long time. That might had explained the incident though. Since, sightings had been reported. Seeing a woman dressed in red standing by the window at night staring at anyone who passes by the house. Some also reported hearing cooking sessions and even weeping. A few years later, the house was demolished due to unknown reasons and since, no sightings were reported again.

Well then, that's all I have for today. Hope you peeps enjoy the story though. Like I always say, whether true or false it all depends on whether you yourself wants to believe. Whether to believe or laugh of at it, it's your choice. Best regards!
