Food For Thought
It reads "Braised Deer Tail Soup with Abalone - RM 170 per bowl." That's not the part I am concerned about. The part that had me questioning is this. "Reliefs the joint pain, enhances body and masculine needs". Is this true?
From Shark's fin to deer's tail, these food are considered exotic. I assume. Well, do deer tails really help in relieving joint pain? Not just that, there are few other deer parts that are said to help in improving and enhancing certain part of the human body. Deer antlers for instance, are said to:
So, deers are first hunted down, antlers sawed off, following by their tails which are cut off and their 'pizzles' being plucked off; All for the good of mankind. Cheers! So deers aren't exactly hunted for their meat after all. Not just deers. Many more animals are being hunted for certain purposes or maybe similiar purposes. Black bears is of one good example. Yes, they are cute. Just wait till you see how they are being hunted and treated before ending up on the dinner table. They are basically hunted for their gall bladder which are believed to help improve lots of 'malfunctions' and cure ailments. I don't even want to start on the crocodile meat. To be exact, these sort of delicacies are popular among the Chinese. As a matter of fact, I am a Chinese and I don't feel proud on that. I don't consume this dishes in the first place well except for shark's fin. A reason to back up on the consumption of shark's fin: There are mostly made out of flour and with certain ingredients here in Malaysia, as shark's fin don't come in strands. They can make them look exactly like a shark's fin.
So until today, they are still the most popular chinese delicacy, Even Yao Ming, the NBA basketball star from China had made a press conference in 2006 on advising people to stop eating shark's fin but guess what? During his marriage dinner, the very first dish was Sharks fin! I guess he knew that those shark's fin might be flour very well after all. No offense to him but Shark's Fin is a must have in Chinese wedding dinners. It signifies the lavishness of the marriage. As, the dish is after all quite expensive. A random confession: I used to attend marriages for the sake of enjoying the Shark's Fin Soup. Anyway, I do have deer meat once in awhile but never the other parts..
They are good, they are believed to improve my health but do you know what the animal went through before ending up as a dish on your dinner table? I am sure that most of you people might have seen the advertisement on Discovery or National Geographic channel on how the Black Bears are treated right? Awful I tell you. Some individuals had turned vegetarian after watching how the bears are treated. Not just the black bears actually, other animals like elephants which are hunted for their tusks, crocodiles for their leather skins and monkeys for their brains. From Elephant tusks can make my home prettier and leather bags are more attractive to Monkey brains.. I don't know what the benefit is but I am sure you won't get any smarter by consuming the brain. If you're a smart in the first place, you wont be tying the poor monkey up, put a table with a hole in the middle on top of the monkey, sawing the head off and then scooping its brain with a spoon while the monkey is screaming for its life. Of course, this practise had long been banned though. It's just a random example.
Truthfully, I do hope that all these senseless killings can stop. Havent they thought about this before?:

- You're a human, so a human pizzle might do the 'magic'
- You're a human, human bladder might do the cure
- You're a human, human teeth might serve as a better decoration
- You're a human, human skin might be more attractive
- You're a human, human brains might get you smarter
When the buying stops, the killing can too!
