When The Days Before Were After..
Saturday. What a day. Chinese New year's just around the corner. Haha.
The great things about Chinese New Year are that, the beautiful decorations of red lanterns in the house, fire crackers lighting up the night sky, children's laughter filling through the quiet nights, families coming back from all around the country or world to pay their respects to each other, Hoi toi for Chor Tai Ti or Mahjong with our beloved grandmother or grandfather, the hardcore course of steamboat lunch, dinner and at times; as early as breakfast and last but not least, the fat angpows we recieve from our uncles or aunties, grandmothers or grandfathers or our married cousins. [Take Note: The ang pows that are thin ususally have more value than the fat onesXD. you know why;)]
There are things that are great in CNY but there will be things that aren't that great during CNY. Among are; the massive jam that will have to be faced on every highway especially the North South Expressway, the usual annoyance of our uncles and aunties comparing or showing off how many A's their children scored in the last major exam and what sort of achievements in educations they got hold of or the talents but never about the talents in sports or musics and last but not least, the contribution to the already critical global warming from the burning of fire crackers and the burning of feul==. Hei, I am an environmentalist;).
My hometown is in Penang. Usually, it only took us around 4 hours to reach there but at festive seasons like this it will take an extra 2 hours. That's why I prefer to stay at home. Haha. But still, I gotta go back right? Lolz. The main reason I go back is actually because of the love of the local foods in Penang. Haha.
Among my favourite dishes are:
The extremely addictive Penang Assam laksa.
The mouth-watering Penang Prawn Mee. But then i don't like the yellow mee. Haha. Only the meehon;). @@..
A picture of few other local favourites. Haha. Hei Emily! I see your favourite dish in thereXD. Chee Cheong Fun. Kaka.
Well, I am looking forward to satisfy the lust for the local dishesT_T. I was drooling while I was looking for the pictures and posting the pictures up==. If only I had a private jet to fly myself to and fro from Subang to Penang==. Zz. That's all for the day. Take Care.
